What is a Hangover?Although there is no precise scientific definition, we know it only when we have it. In general, an alcohol hangover involves two or more of the following symptoms: headache, nausea, diarrhea, lack of appetite, shakiness, tiredness and an overall feeling of being unwell. Simply put, it feels like the "flu". There are numerous changes in the balance of hormones, neurotransmitters and other biological substances in the body. These neurobiological imbalances lead not only to the symptoms described above, but also to a rapid heart rate and increased work load on the heart which is responsible for increased cardiac mortality. A diffuse slowing of the brain waves can be seen on an EEG even 16 hours after alcohol clears the body. Neuromuscular performance also gets impaired long after alcohol is undetectable in the blood. Hangovers can completely incapacitate you, giving you an upset stomach, a huge headache, a gross-tasting mouth and a guilty conscience. Symptoms: After ingesting the alcohol, the body breaks it down into acetaldehyde and other things, before converting it into less harmful substances. The acetaldehyde messes with the brain at the same time that many depleted minerals are short-circuiting the nervous system. This leads to headache-and-dry-mouth symptoms caused by dehydration. This results in nausea, twitchy nerves, unpleasantness, pessimism, terrible brain pain, and a temporary suspension of the laws of gravity. The severity of a hangover varies according to: ·The amount of alcohol consumed in a given period of time. ·Body's own innate enzymatic capacity to deal with the poisons. ·Age. Causes of Hangover: Hangovers are a poorly understood clinical entity despite their existence since ancient times. Scientists now believe the cause is multi-factorial and their occurrence is not solely related to the amount of alcohol consumed. Other factors include an empty stomach, lack of sleep, psychosocial factors, increased physical activity while drinking and dehydration. Persons in otherwise poor health have a greater likelihood of developing a hangover. Some people believe that a hangover is nature's way of punishment to prevent future drinking. However, studies have found that hangovers do not deter drinking. In contrast, it may encourage the person to drink more. Many studies have shown that many people with hangovers drink more alcohol to reverse its effects. Precautions to be taken: Before going out: ·Don't go out on an empty stomach. Consider taking a preventative dose of Hangover Terminator about 1 to 3 capsules. While You're Out: Choose your liquor with care. ·Do not mix different types of drinks. ·Avoid drinking on an empty stomach. Food in the stomach prevents rapid absorption of alcohol into the blood stream. ·Alternate alcoholic beverages with non-alcoholic beverages. ·Do not drink while using sauna. Saunas and alcohol do not mix well together and lead to increased health risk. ·Consume less than one drink per hour. ·Ladies should avoid heavy drinking and try not to compete with the men. When you get home: ·Empty your bladder. ·Drink plenty of water. Make sure to drink water or other fluids such as apple juice or Gatorade before going to sleep, in order to prevent dehydration. ·It is not advisable that you take analgesics (that is, headache medicine) of any kind at this stage. Instead, drink lots of water. When You Have a Hangover ·Do not drink more liquor in order to reverse the hangover. It will make matters worse. ·Drink plenty of water or other fluids but avoid orange or grapefruit juice. ·Eat light, nutritious food and stay away from greasy, fatty foods. ·Avoid sauna to relieve hangover. It may sound appealing, but can have adverse effects on heart and blood pressure. ·For your own safety and others, don't drive a vehicle or operate heavy machinery. ·Take 1 to 3 capsules of Hangover Terminator. IMPORTANT NOTE: See a doctor IMMEDIATELY if you are experiencing tremors, stomach pain or if you see blood in your vomit. These are indications that you have exceeded your drinking, and must get professional medical attention. Composition: High Quality extracts of Wild crafted herbs from their natural habitat. Turmeric (rhizome): Turmeric helps stimulate the flow of bile, which helps digest fats. It has a protective effect on the liver tissue exposed to liver damaging drugs and alcohol. It had been traditionally used for liver ailments. Consuming alcohol regularly or using the pain killer acetaminophen (Tylenol) tends to increase the risk for liver damage; turmeric may help in minimizing this damage to some extent. Shilajit (Mineral Pitch): A natural support for renewing vitality and physical strength is obtained from rocks in the towering cliffs of the Himalayan Mountains formed about 50 million years ago. Shilajit is a natural source for all minerals required by the body for nourishment and replenishment. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): Provides energy and revitalizes the body. Ashwa means horse and gandha means vitality. It is a good nervine tonic. Some scientific studies have shown that Ashwagandha produces better results than Korean ginseng. Amla (Emblica officinalis): It improves the taste in the mouth. It is said that one Amla is a natural source of vitamin C equal to 20 oranges. Excellent for digestive disorders and liver problems. Neem: Detoxifying benefits. Neem, known as "the reliever of sickness", boosts the immune system at all levels. Indian Kino Tree (heartwood): Alcoholic and aqueous extracts of heartwood produce a significant reduction in blood sugar level (hypoglycemic action). It is a remarkable herb according to scientific research (Study published in the lancet issue 1981 pg. 759). Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia): As per Ayurvedic literature, this herb is a tonic and revitalizer for general debility. It is used as Immuno builder and promotes regeneration of the liver from drug and alcohol induced hepatic toxicity. Fenugreek: Aromatic and carminative. It absorbs toxins. This herb delays the glucose absorption by the intestine thereby reducing the glucose peak level after consumption of food and alcoholic beverages. Gymnema sylvester, Eugenia Jambolana and Bitter Melon: These herbs help maintain a healthy glucose level. Pearl Powder (calcined): Natural source of calcium and cooling in nature.
